AHA BLS INSTRUCTOR COURSE
This course covers how to plan and prepare for courses, instructing courses, conducting written exams (if applicable), skills practice and skills testing and how to keep your instructor status current. This course includes approximately 8 hours of information about instructing AHA courses, followed by course-specific information.
Requirements and Steps For Becoming an AHA Instructor
All Student Must:
- Attend and successfully complete the Instructors Essentials Course online
- Have a current AHA BLS Provider card
- ALL instructors must be monitored once within six months of completing the classroom Instructor Course before teaching a course on their own.
The American Heart Association requires ALL instructors to be registered and confirmed (aligned) on the AHA Instructor Network. Aligning on the AHA Instructor Network will allow the Instructor to obtain and use the Instructor ID# that is required on all course completion cards.
