Patient Care Technician Bundle - Hybrid

21 Week Course

In order to be eligible to sit for the AMCA Patient Care Technician National exam (PCTC), all three modules must be successfully completed.

For those who have completed the Nurse Aide program, you will have the opportunity to take the Virginia State exams for Certified Nurse Aide (CNA).


Requirements:

  • Detailed requirement instructions are included in the Student Registration Packet. You will receive all necessary documents electronically, and these documents must be completed in order to be officially registered for your class. Please note that the pre-course exams are required and must be completed for final approval into the program.
  • You must have access to a computer (PC, MAC, Chromebook, or laptop) to participate in this class. Please note that cell phones and iPads are not supported for Google Classroom.
  • Mandatory background check.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • AHA BLS Provider CPR card is also required (student discount available if you schedule the class with Heart to Heart CTC)

Nurse Aide/Med Aide Bundle - Hybrid

10 Week Course

To benefit from the discounted tuition rate, you must complete the Nurse Aide course and subsequently enroll in the Medication Aide class.

Should you decide to drop the Medication Aide class, the Nurse Aide course will return to its full tuition fee.

Detailed instructions regarding requirements are included in the student registration packet, and it is essential to ensure you have received Covid-19 immunizations, shot records required and current TB test results. All students are required to have a background check completed before class starts. AHA BLS Provider CPR card is required.


Please consult the Nurse Aide class dates for the start of the sessions. To enroll in the Nurse Aide class, you will need to register, and we will then proceed to register you for the Medication Aide class as well.

The Medication Aide course requires a Virginia State License to practice. Registration closes one week prior to the class start date, and we reserve the right to change onsite skills days, dates, and times. Please note that Medication Aide students are required to have white scrubs for clinicals and onsite skills classes. A copy of your CNA license or certificate must be on file in the office.


32 HR Medication Aide - $400 (Non-Licensed Certificate)


Course Overview:

This 32-hour non-licensed certificate course is designed for individuals interested in working in group homes and psychiatric facilities. Please note that this position is not state-licensed.

  • Shot records (required shots for class: HepB, Tdap and a current TB test) are mandatory, COVID-19 immunizations are strongly encouraged. Local hospitals will require HepB, Tdap, MMR. Varicella and flu if in season. You need to be prepared to have all of them for employment.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • An AHA BLS Provider CPR card is mandatory, and you'll receive a student discount if you schedule the class with us.
  • This class includes 8 onsite mandatory skills classes, and specific dates will be posted in the classroom. Skills days are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays or Monday/Wed depending on the class.
  • Successful completion of a pre-course exam is necessary for class approval.

This fully online 6-week Monitor Technician course prepares students to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips for employment in hospitals and clinical facilities.
